Physical Education and Health Guides: Year 9 Women in Sport Podcast

Task Overview

You have been employed by Chloe Dalton to put together the next episode of the female athlete project podcast. You can find examples of her previous podcasts at https://www.thefemaleathleteproject.com/  

Part A – Podcast 

You are to choose an inspiring female Australian athlete and present a 3-4min podcast which: 

  • Introduces the chosen athletes sporting background and their personal adversity. 

  • Critically analyses their journey to overcome their personal adversity. For example, their Indigenous and cultural background, being in a male dominated sport, mental health, transgender athlete, gender pay gap, return to competitive sport ( post motherhood, injury) – any other barriers they have had to overcome along the way. 

  • Provides advice to up and coming female athletes on managing adversity in sport.  

Part B – Synopsis and Transcript 

You are required to submit a synopsis (100-150 words) of your episode (see example provided on Task sheet), and a written transcript of the podcast along with the media file.  A synopsis is a brief summary that give the audience an idea of what the podcast is about. 

 

Additional information 

Your submission must: 

  • Be engaging, using appropriate tone of voice, speaking pace, sound effects, music etc. (these are presentation choices which you will see in the rubric). 

  • Be between 3-4 min in length. 

  • Have the audio file submitted to SEQTA. 

  • Have the synopsis and transcript submitted through Turnitin via SEQTA. 

  • Be accompanied by a reference list which follows the St Clare's Referencing Guide. This is to be submitted with your synopsis and transcript.
