Task Instructions

 

You have been invited to present at an on-line conference by the organisation, Australian Youth Literary Alliance, Through Literature, Resilience.  

Both fiction and non-fiction have tried to explore disaster and literature, exploring the role of disaster in literature, the impact on an individual and/or society, the outcome and changes and adaptation of human beings post disaster through selected literary works.  

You are to select an approved substantive text, written or non-written that explores shipwrecks as its theme, for example a novel, a minimum of three short stories, or an approved film. (See suggested texts list on assessment task for inspiration). 

You are to prepare an 8-10 minute investigation into the use of literature to explore the theme of shipwrecks, You need to investigate the main issues raised in text you have selected and the relevance of these issues to current and future society dealing with similar disasters or disasters in general.
