For this essay you will research the state of international relations in a key historical period of the international system. You will be assessed on your ability to adequately research and interpret the information that you find. An integration and evaluation of a diverse range of perspectives is also expected in order to build your argument. You will also be assessed on your ability to logically structure an essay, to write fluently in an appropriate style. Your essay must include sources that are referenced using the Harvard referencing system. Refer to the LibGuide on referencing.

To what extent did Europe achieve a state of peace and stability by 1929? Focus on the period of diplomatic relations between Europe's main powers in the period of 1919-1929.
Analyse the reasons for the failure of the League of Nations.
Analyse the causes of the Cold War. Focus on the period of the 1930s and 1940s.
Analyse the significance of the end of the Cold War to the international order.
Analyse the significance of the War on Terror to the international order.
Your result will relate to your ability to adequately research and interpret the information that you find and incorporate a selection of both primary and secondary sources.
